After Ron Perlman and Kanye West, comedian Chris Rock will run for the US presidential elections in 2020, at least his Twitter handle says so. The comedian in a hilarious Twitter post announced that he will run for the presidential election.
"I'm gonna run in 2020 wish me luck," he tweeted along with a photo of himself from his 2003 film Head of State. In the film, Rock's character becomes the new presidential candidate after his party's original presidential and vice-presidential nominees die in a plane crash.
He also revealed his slogan for the next presidential elections and it says, "The only thing white is the house."
On Tuesday, November 8, Donald Trump became the 45th US president, leaving behind Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, and soon after that protests erupted in several states. Several celebrities, who came out in support of Clinton, also joined the protests.
Celebrities, including Khloe Kardashian, Chris Evans, Mandy Moore, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande and others took to social media to openly voice their disapproval of Trump becoming the president.
Meanwhile, Rock joined the list of celebrities who announced that they will be running for the US presidential elections in 2020. On Wednesday, Perlman announced that he will be contesting the elections in 2020 against Trump and West.
"I am hereby using my immense Facebook presence to announce my candidacy for President of United States, 2020," he posted on Facebook.
West was the first celebrity to announce about his candidacy in the elections. During MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) last year, West revealed his intentions.
"I don't know what I stand to lose after this, it don't matter though, because it ain't about me, it's about new ideas, bro, new ideas. People with ideas, people who believe in truth. And yes, as you probably could have guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for president," he said in a speech at the MTV VMAs.
