Following the dismissal of James Gunn from Marvel Cinematic Universe, the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy is trying their best to move on. The Avengers: Infinity War star, Chris Pratt recently talked about his experience while working with Gunn and how everyone needs to move on for the greater good.
After Gunn's firing from Guardians of the Galaxy movie series, the cast is clearly struggling to deal with the situation. The entire cast is in dilemma as to whether they should stay focused on the work or show their true friendship and stick by Gunn during his troubled times. Chris Pratt, who plays Star-Lord in MCU movies, recently talked about his take on Gunn's firing and how he still hopes that Gunn will be back in the Disney movie series.
While talking with Associated Press, Pratt said that Guardian of the Galaxy movie series presents a complicated situation for everyone without Gunn helming it.
"It's not an easy time. We all love James and he's a good friend of ours, but we also really love playing the Guardians of the Galaxy. It's a complicated situation for everybody. And you know, we just want to move forward and do what's right and be the best people we can be," Pratt told Associated Press.
James Gunn was one of those directors from this generation who remained active on social media. He recently shared negative comments about Donald Trump, that prompted alt-right bloggers to dig through his old tweets. They revealed how Gunn once joked about rape and paedophilia. Within days, Disney's executives decided to fire James Gunn. To add to his woes, Gunn's alleged photos had surfaced online that shows him attending a paedophilia-themed party based on the NBC program, To Catch a Predator.
James Gunn's firing also coincided with the recently held San Diego Comic-Con.
"All I know is we put a lot of time, thought and effort into the statement that we released about it. And I think we all kind of want that statement to be essentially what we have to say about it. And we were pretty clear and honest about how we feel," Pratt added.
The statement Pratt talked about is the open letter which cast members of Guardians recently shared. Signed by Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, and many more, the open letter showed their support and inclination towards James Gunn.
