Chris Gayle was blessed with a daughter on Thursday, and the baby has been named 'Blush.' Gayle, who is a crucial member of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) side in the IPL, had on Monday flown back to Jamaica to be with his partner Natasha Berridge.
Gayle announced the news on the social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter on Thursday.
"We would like to welcome the arrival of our beautiful daughter 'Blush' to this world 2 hours ago, Thank God. #GoodHealth&Strength – The greatest gift and feelings anyone would want. Great experience witnesses every bit of it. Have to give my blessings to Tasha, strong woman," Gayle wrote in his posts.
Gayle clearly invoked memories of the infamous scandal that he got involved in during the Big Bash League in Jan. 2016, when he told TV presenter Mel McLaughlin. "Don't Blush Baby..." during an interview on the sidelines of the event. For that incident, he was fined Au$10,000 and had to apologise in front of the media.
For people who thought naming his daughter 'Blush' was a simple coincidence, Gayle's next tweet cleared that doubt, when he referred to the infamous incident that took place in Australia.
Gayle missed a game for RCB against the Mumbai Indians on Wednesday and he is also going to miss their next game against the Rising Pune Supergiants, which is scheduled to be held in Pune on Friday.
Gayle, who is yet to fire for RCB, is expected to join the squad ahead of their encounter against the Gujarat Lions in Rajkot on Sunday.
