Chiyaan Vikram, who is awaiting the release of the upcoming Tamil movie, "Iru Mugan," has arrived in Kochi to promote the science-fiction movie.
The actor has been spotted at different places in the city since Monday, Aug. 29, promoting the upcoming movie, which is written and directed by Anand Shankar of "Arima Nambi"-fame. The "I" actor spent some quality time with the youth at Sacred Heart College in Thevara on Monday and was also spotted attending a press meet in the city on Tuesday.
Vikram was seen speaking in Malayalam during the press meet with "Iru Mugan" producer Shibu Thameens. "The theme of the movie is very interesting with good performances by each actor and extra-ordinary music. Most importantly, the story is the hero of the movie. I play double role in it - as main actor as well as villain. This is a science fiction story, we all were excited to be part of it and I am sure the audience will also feel the excitement," Vikram said at the press meet.
Calling "Iru Mugan" as an Onam gift to all the Malayali audience, the actor wished his fans the greetings of the harvest festival. "Happy Onam to all and thank you for all the support you give me," Vikram concluded.
Meanwhile, Vikram will also be featured in the Onam special programmes in various Malayalam entertainment channels.
"Iru Mugan" stars Nayantara and Nithya Menen in the female lead role and the movie marks the first association of the actor with Nayantara. Vikram will be seen as Akhil and Love in the movie, which is majorly shot in Malaysia, Ladakh, Bangkok and Chennai. While Harris Jayaraj have composed the music, RD Rajasekhar has cranked the cinematography and editing has been handled by Buvan Srinivasan.
The movie, which has bagged 'U/A' certification from the regional censor board is scheduled to hit the screens on Sept. 8. The Vikram-starrer will be pitted against two big-budget Malayalam movies — Mohanlal's "Oppam" and Prithviraj Sukumaran's "Oozham" upon its release at the Kerala box office.
