Following the success of Xiaomi, Lenovo and Huawei, another Chinese smartphone-maker is all set to enter the Indian affordable smartphone market. For making the venture successful, Coolpad Group Limited has appointed Varun Sharma as Chief Executive Officer of its smartphone brand, Dazen.
According to an Indian Express report, the Coolpad is based out of Shenzen, China and has its own manufacturing unit for making smartphones. The smartphone brand also holds over 6,000 patents in mobile technology.
Following the success of Xiaomi and Huawei with budget smartphone Redmi 1S and Honor Holly, Lenovo launched its first affordable smartphone, A6000, in India. Later, several brands tried their luck in the budget smartphone market in India and most of them are already successful in their ventures.
Xiaomi has recently launched two budget smartphones Mi 4i and Redmi 2 across different price ranges, while Lenovo has also launched A6000 Plus and A7000. Recently Motorola has also launched Moto E 2nd Generation and Huawei is bringing two more budget smartphones in the country by 8 May.
For making its appearance successful, Coolpad Dazen is gearing up to make its own R&D centre following a smartphone manufacturing unit in the country.
