Chinese communities across the world are all set to ring in their New Year -- Year of the Monkey -- in four days. The Chinese New Year, also called as the Lunar New Year or the Spring Festival, will start from 8 February.
The celebrations begin a day before New Year and continue until the 15th day, which is called as Lantern Festival.
The Chinese Year is divided into 12 houses (zodiac signs) and the Year of the Monkey is the ninth animal in the zodiac cycle, according to China Highlights. The Year of the Monkey is also called as Red Fire Monkey Year.
