In less than a day, the Year of Snake will make way for Wooden Horse. The Chinese people have already started the celebrations of the beginning of the New Year -- the Year of the Wooden Horse.
The Lunar New Year, which is associated with several myths, regional customs and traditions, is celebrated across the globe.
The Year of Wooden Horse is going to be adventurous and romantic for some while others will witness chaos and market fluctuations. According to Chinese philosophy, people who are born under the wooden horse zodiac will have a mixed year.
The Year of the Horse deals with fire, wood and energy. So it will bring conflicts and disaster, Raymond Lo, a Hong Kong's practitioners of feng shui explained it to Reuters.
"The upcoming Horse year is also a 'yang wood' year, when people will stick more to their principles and stand firm," Raymond said.
The Chinese calendar, which is also called as Sheng Xiao, comprises of 12 cycles representing an animal which lasts for a year.
The 12 cycles of the Sheng Xiao calendar are Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig.
2014 is the Year of the Wooden Horse and people who are born in the years 2014, 2002, 1990, 1978, 1966, 1954, 1942, 1930, 1918 and 1906 belong to this zodiac sign.
The Lunar New Year is celebrated for 15 days with family and friends. Unlike other New Year celebrations, the first day of Lunar New Year will be celebrated with parades, floats and a healthy dose of Chinese culture across the world.
