Chinese authorities designated 3 September as the day to mark the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II and it appears China is preparing to strike back against 'enemy' forces.
An animation video produced by China's tech giant Tencent has been doing the rounds on social media ever since it was released late last month. The video shows an 'unidentified foreign army' attacking the communist nation, which China fights back easily. Though the video has Chinese subtitles, the context is understandable.
Even though the foreign army is not named in the video, certain weapons similar to America's F-22 Raptor, Arleigh Burke-class destroyers and a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier shown in the video hint that the 'enemy' referred to is America.
The animation video is said to have gone viral with more than 60 million views on Tencent in China. It has also been viewed more than a million times on YouTube after it was uploaded 28 August by twubird 2010.
