A Chihuahua that managed to sneak into the luggage of its owner last week got the alarm bells ringing at the New York airport.
According to the Transportation Security Administration officers, the seven-year old Chihuahua triggered a security alert at New York's LaGuardia Airport last week after it sneaked inside its owner's luggage.
TSA spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein told Associated Press that the airport security at the checked-baggage area got an 'unknown-contents alarm' for a black suitcase.
When the airport security opened the suitcase, they found a beige and tan Chihuahua snuggled inside amid clothes and other stuff.
TSA official interviewed the luggage owner, who expressed surprise and shock at the discovery. It is believed that the naughty little dog curled up inside the suitcase while she was packing for a flight to Los Angeles.
The security staff took the whole incident in good humour and even shared the image of the little pet on its social media accounts.
The TSA posted the image of the Chihuahua and the black suitcase in which it was found on its Instagram account with an advise: " It's always important to double check your bags before traveling, especially to make sure your Chihuahua hasn't stowed away inside one of them."
The TSA later released the little naughty pet to its owner.
