The next episode of NBC's "Chicago Fire", titled "The Beating Heart", will surely be full of surprises and twists once the show returns after its mid-season break.
Undoubtedly, fans are holding their breath over the fate of Christopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg) after his near-fatal accident in the previous episode. Herrmann is one of the most beloved characters on the show, and his death could leave fans devastated.
Herrmann was stabbed and left for dead in the mid-season finale, titled "Short and Fat". However, in a recent picture released by Carter Matt, Herrmann is seen surrounded by colleagues in hospital where a number of medical equipment are hooked to him. The website mentions that the image is from the upcoming episode "The Beating Heart".
However, given the recent turns of circumstances, Herrmann might be saved.
As the crossover between "Chicago Fire" and "Chicago Med" has been confirmed by show creator Matt Olmstead, there is a significant chance that doctors from "Chicago Med" could save the life of Herrmann. However, whether they manage to save his life will be seen only in the next episode.
Talking about the crossover, Olmstead told the Hollywood Reporter that it would bring all the Chicago shows together, including Chicago PD, and be an epic story.
Another burning question the fans want answered is the relationship status of Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Dawson (Monica Raymund). The two have been reunited, but there is still something wrong between them.
However, Spencer contradicted the assumption and said even though they have not said anything to each other, a re-proposal is not needed anymore.
In an interview with TVLine, he said they are already married in their hearts and minds. "They're together. I don't see them breaking up. I, as Jesse, would be traumatised if they had to break up at this point. I'm a big shipper, but the actual marriage is inconsequential," he said.
