Gangster Chhota Rajan and three others were convicted in a fake passport case by a Delhi court on Monday. The court has ordered immediate arrest of the three convicts, and said that their sentence would be declared on the next date of hearing.
A special court of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) also framed charges against them and put on trail the three other convicts, who are retired public service personnel, for helping Rajan, ANI reported. Rajan was booked for allegedly acquiring a fake passport in the name of Mohan Kumar with the aid of the three retired government officials.
The four of them have been booked under sections 420 (cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 467(forgery of valuable security or will), 419(cheating by impersonation) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code, and section 12 (offences and penalties) of the Passport Act.
Rajan is currently lodged in Tihar Jail in New Delhi.
