General Motors India has slashed the price of Chevrolet Trailblazer by Rs 2.5 lakh. The flagship SUV of the Chevrolet, launched at Rs 26.4 lakh in October last year, is now priced at Rs 23.95 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
The price cut comes after Trailblazer's rival Ford Endeavour received a price cut of up to Rs 2.82 lakh in September. Toyota will also launch a new Fortuner in India on November 7. The price cut is also initiated on account of arrival of this new rival.
Chevrolet Trailblazer is sold only one variant (LTZ) and it is rear-wheel drive. Its rivals such as Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport are available in four-wheel driven as well as manual transmission combinations. This seems to have hampered sales of Trailblazer in 2016. The company just sold 48 Trailblazers between January and August 2016.
Chevrolet Trailblazer measures 4,878mm in length, 1,902mm in width and 1,847mm of height. It comes with a 2,845mm wheelbase and has a ground clearance of class leading 253mm. The SUV also boast of class-leading boot space of 1830-litres. The SUV is built on body-on-frame chassis.
Trailblazer is powered by 2.8-litre Duramax four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that develops 197bhp of power at 3,600rpm and 500Nm of torque at 2,000rpm mated to six-speed automatic transmission. This also means that Trailblazer is the most powerful vehicle in its segment.
A facelifted version of Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV was unveiled at the 37th Bangkok International Motor Show in March 2016. This latest version has been confirmed for India in 2017.
