Chevrolet India launched its full size SUV, the Trailblazer, in India and it has been priced at Rs 26.4 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. The SUV will be sold only in a single variant and rear-wheel driven version.
The face of the SUV is similar to the manufacturer's family design, with split grill and 'bowtie' Chevrolet logo at the centre. The massive grille is flanked by sharp-looking projector headlamps. The rear of the vehicle is similar to its main rival, Toyota Fortuner, with typical boxy design. The SUV does not boast of unique styling, yet all the proportions are neat and cohesive.
The new SUV measures 4,878mm in length, 1,902mm in width and 1,847mm of height. It comes with 2,845mm wheelbase and has a ground clearance of class leading 253mm. The Trailblazer also comes with class-leading boot space of 1830-litres.
The SUV has Corvette-inspired three-spoke steering wheel that comes with mounted controls for audio and cruise control. The interior receives black and beige dual-tone finish. The SUV also features 7-inch 'MyLink' touchscreen infotainment system with smart phone app link.
The Trailblazer is powered by 2.8-litre Duramax four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that develops 197bhp of power at 3,600rpm and 500Nm of torque at 2,000rpm mated to six-speed automatic transmission. This also means that the Trailblazer is the most powerful vehicle in its segment. The SUV is built on body-on-frame chassis.
On safety front, Trailblazer is equipped with dual-airbags, electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), electronic stability control (ESC), anti-lock braking system (ABS), pre-tensioner seatbelts, rear-park assist and reverse parking camera.
The new Chevrolet Trailblazer is pitted against likes of Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.
