Chevrolet's latest offering the Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) segment is set to steer into the Indian market on 9 May.
The Chevrolet Enjoy, originally called Wuling Hongguang in China, is expected to launch in India in six variants with petrol and diesel engine options. The car will be pitted against current MPV market leader Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Nissan Evalia.
Under the hood, the Chevrolet Enjoy petrol variant packs 1.4-litre S-TEC II engine which produces 104PS of power and 131Nm of torque. The diesel version will house a 1.3-litre diesel motor engine with 76 bhp of power. The Indian version of Wuling Hongguang is being jointly developed by General Motors India and Shanghai Industry Automotive Corporation (SAIC).
The car will be available in India with the option of seven to eight seaters. The seven-seater model will have the captain seats in the first two rows and the last row will be a bench. The eight seater will come with benches in the middle and last rows.
The six variants of the car will include three petrol and three diesel models namely LS, LT and LZ. There is no exact information available on the pricing details of the car. It is expected to be fall in the ₹6-₹8 lakh price bracket. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is priced in a similar range of ₹6 lakh to ₹ 8.7 lakh. The top variant of the car will feature safety features like antilock braking system (ABS), electronic brake distribution (EBD) and two airbags.
