Chevrolet Enjoy, the company's latest offering in the Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) segment, is reportedly going come into a compact version, according to the latest report.
According to a Hindustan Times Autocar India report, Chevrolet is prepping to launch a compact Enjoy variant which would fall in the sub-four-metre segment. The miniature version of Enjoy would be priced low in the market. Although there are not many details have been revealed, it was said that the car is likely to use a 1.2-litre engine which produces 85bhp power and weigh less than the original version, thus improving fuel efficiency and performance.
The cars in this portfolio enjoy the benefit of tax exemption and would be priced low in the market.
"The excise benefits will make the shortened Enjoy around ₹40,000 cheaper, which is a significant amount in the segment. A reduction of nearly half a lakh rupees on its price tag will pit the smaller sibling right in the meat of the hatchback segment," stated the report.
The current version of Chevrolet Enjoy which was recently launched comes in petrol and diesel options. Under the hood, the petrol variant packs a 1.4-litre S-TEC II engine which produces 104PS of power and 131Nm of torque. It is priced between ₹5.49 lakh and ₹6.99 lakh. On the other hand, the diesel version houses a 1.3-litre diesel motor engine with 76 bhp of power and falls in the ₹6.69-₹7.99 lakh price range. The car comes in seven seater and the eight seater models. The seven seater model has captain seats in the first two rows, while the last row is a bench. The eight seater model has benches in the middle and last rows.
