Chetan Bhagat became a trending name on Twitter soon after the India-Pakistan ICC T20 World Cup match March 19. However, the author has been trending on the micro-blogging site for all the wrong reasons as Chetan has been trolled again.
India beat Pakistan in the high-profile match and like many other Twitterati, Chetan also tried to mock Pakistan, but instead got himself mocked. Chetan took to Twitter and said, "See Pakistan if your forefathers hadn't insisted on partition, you wouldn't have to see this day. Good Night Pak. Happens. Sorry #IndvsPak (sic)."
Although the tweet received over 3,000 retweets and over 5,000 likes, there were many who didn't appreciate the tweet and they expressed their displeasure with a series of trolls. While some mocked Chetan for linking India's victory against Pakistan to the partition, some others cracked jokes on him in rather abusive manner.
Earlier, the author was trolled after he had made a tweet questioning on the work of historians, apparently referring to those who had expressed grievance against "growing intolerance" in India. "What do historians do? I am genuinely curious. This happened. Then this happened. Then this. Ok work done for the day (sic)," Chetan had tweeted earlier.
Before that, he was made fun of on Twitter when Chetan had made a tweet making fun of writers who had been returning their Sahitya Academy Award in protest against Dadri lynching and "intolerance" in the country. "Ok so am I also supposed to return my Sahitya Academy award? Oh wait. Haven't got it yet (sic)," he had tweeted.
This tweet was followed by a string of jokes on Chetan and the "Half Girlfriend" author was vehemently trolled on Twitter. Now, his latest tweet on the India vs Pakistan match has again made him a butt of jokes on the same platform. Check some of the tweets below made to troll Chetan.
