Come next year and Xiaomi is ready for the challenge. After showing its consumers a render of the MI Mix 3, Xiaomi's product management director Donovan Sung let people in on another feature of the phone. The phone is slated to be released this October.
The latest offering from Xiaomi will have 5G support. This makes Xiaomi one of the earliest adopters of the 5G technology and the time of the launch means that Xiaomi is ready to embrace the 5G technology wholeheartedly instead of waiting in the sidelines and gauging how the market adapts to it. The October launch echoes what Sung said. Xiaomi "can't wait for the official rollout of 5G next year."
We've successfully tested 5G data connections on Xiaomi phones, and we can't wait for the official rollout of 5G next year! ??

5G download speeds are more than 10X faster than 4G speeds. What's everyone looking forward to the most? ⚡⚡️⚡️ https://t.co/vLAH3wosni
Also, this move is going to be a defining factor when it comes to deciding Xiaomi's market share and when it takes on new regions. The smartphone manufacturer is already known for its value-for-money offering. Now, the fact that its upcoming flagship is already ready for a technology that the pundits say will revolutionise the way we use our handsets in daily life, is surely the cherry on the top of the cake.

With Xiaomi's early adoption and proper implementation of the upcoming technology, Sung is confident that Xiaomi users will be able to enjoy download speeds that will be "more than 10x faster than 4G speeds" on their 5G handsets. However, no matter how 5G ready phone a company brings out, the 5G speed in practicality will all depend on what the operators come out with once they are ready.
