Chelsea have been in roaring form in the Premier League, playing some stunning football to win eight matches on a trot. With such record, they have been deemed as favourites for the title. Chelsea will hope to continue that impressive run as they prepare to face West Brom at Satmford Bridge on Sunday.
The Blues, under Antonio Conte, have been delivering the goods, and the Italian has built a great character in the team, which hates to lose. Even against Manchester City in the last match, Chelsea came from behind to clinch the match in a comfortable manner. With players Eden Hazard and Diego Costa in stunning form, Chelsea have gone from strength to strength this season.
It is not only their offense, but their defence have been brilliant after Conte decided to go three at the back. Players like David Luiz and Gary Cahill have been solid and are making life difficult for opposition to score goals.
Chelsea, this season, has not taken any team lightly. They are aware of the tough nature of the Premier League, where any team can beat any club in the competition. Conte is also aware that their clash against West Brom will be a physical battle, and they have to stand up against Tony Pulis' side.
"We must play game by game and if we are able to take three points, it's important. This game will be a physical match because we face a team with a great physical condition and reputation and for this reason it is important to go onto the pitch with the same will to fight," Chelsea's official website quoted Conte as saying.
"I know Tony Pulis has never been relegated. This shows he is a really good manager and we must pay great attention because West Bromwich is a physical team, very good at set-pieces. They have good players with good technique. For sure this game will be very tough. They are playing very good and doing very well. They have 20 points so we must pay great attention."
Though Chelsea might have been grabbing eyeballs with their impressive performances, West Brom have been doing well in the Premier League of late. The Baggies, after theie loss to Manchester City, have collected 10 points from their last four matches, which includes three wins and one draw.
Despite being an underdog for the clash, West Brom come into this match confident, and they will hope to pull a major upset in the contest. Wet Brom manager Tony Pulis wants his players to come all guns blazing despite Chelsea having all the advantage.
"Chelsea have all the advantages. They have the squad, the stadium, the crowd, they are in great form – all will be against us tomorrow. Everyone will expect them to win. But it's a chance for my boys to puff out their chests, get out there and not be frightened by it. No game is settled before the kick off and we can win. I don't want them thinking they are beaten before we start," Pulis told the club's official website.
