The video of US First Lady Melania Trump swatting her husband US President Donald Trump's hand away has gone viral and has started a discussion on the true nature of their marriage.

Like many, Chelsea Handler is also curious about this, and she opened up about fantasising the day Melania divorced her husband.

Sitting down with The View, Handler said she was hoping Saudi Arabia would want to keep Donald Trump and not send him back to the US. "I'm hoping they keep him. Wouldn't it be nice if they just took him and kept him and treated him like the women over there?" asked the comedian.

Laughing at the video of Melania refusing to hold Donald's hand, Handler wondered if the couple were even sleeping together aboard Air Force One. "Where is Melania sleeping and where is Donald Trump sleeping?" she wondered. "I have a fantasy. I just want Melania to finally come out and divorce him. She would be an American hero."

"We could embrace her if she just said, 'Listen, this guy's disgusting. I know all of his dirty secrets and I'm willing to tell everybody,'" Handler insisted.

Calling his presidency "a crazy reality show," the former Chelsea Lately host noted, "Just when you think it can't get any worse, it does... Every time I think it's the end, it's not."

The only good thing that came out of Donald becoming the President was that it prompted Handler to learn "so much about politics in the last year. It's been so important and fun for me to get involved and get informed."
