A Tamil Nadu-based businessman has filed a case on Feb. 25 in Bengaluru against South Indian actress Meghana Raj, alleging that the actress cheated him by first offering to marry but later backing out due to some unknown reasons.
The Bengaluru City Police has confirmed to International Business Times India that a case has been registered by one Janardhanan against the actress at the JP Nagar Police Station in the city. However, when IBTimes India contacted the JP Nagar Police Station, the authorities refused to give details on the same.
Meghana, who began her career as a theatre artist, was recently said to be in a relationship with Kannada actor Chiranjeevi Sarja, although neither has confirmed about their relationship officially. The actors were last seen together on-screen in the Kannada romantic thriller film "Aatagara" (2015), which was based on Agatha Christie's mystery novel "And Then There Were None."
Meghana is a familiar face for all the South Indian language film lovers. She made her debut with the Telugu film "Bendu Apparao R.M.P" in 2009. Some of her notable movies are "Beautiful," "Memories," "Up & Down: Mukalil Oralundu" (Malayalam), "Kaadhal Solla Vandhen" (Tamil), among others.
Meghana will be next seen in debutant Sudhi Anna's Malayalam movie "Hallelooya" opposite Narain. The film is expected to hit the screens on March 26.
