It had the fifth biggest opening this year after "Race 2", "Himmatwala", "Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola", and "Special 26".
"#ChashmeBaddoor Friday *actuals* 5.18 cr," trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted.
"#ChashmeBaddoor *early estimates* should cross ₹ 5.5 cr. May even touch ₹ 6 cr. Data still pouring in. Super start!"
"#ChashmeBaddoor is off to a super start in India. North India and Mumbai circuits leading. Even mass-dominated belt very good!" he added.
The film opened well in North Indian circuit, and an average opening in southern and eastern circuits.
"Chashme Baddoor" is set to give a tough competition to Ajay Devgn and Tamannah's "Himmatwala" at the box office. The collection of "Himmatwala" has already declined due to negative word of mouth and it is expected to dip even further following the release of "Chashme Baddoor".
With no major release this week, "Chashme Baddoor" collections should increase over the weekend. Positive reviews from critics and good word of mouth should contribute to the collection of the film.
