Charlotte girl gives emotional speech about the treatment of the black community
Residents packed Charlotte City Council meeting on 26 September. It was the first meeting of the body since police killed Keith Scott, sparking days of protests to talk about the killing. Young Zianna Oliphant delivered a tearful plea to the elected representatives of the city. “It’s a shame that our fathers and mothers are killed and we can’t see them any more,†she said.
