Director Martin Prakkat's third outing "Charlie" is making headlines almost everyday ever since it went on floors.
Even before its release, the Dulquer Salmaan and Parvathy starrer created records with the amazing response it received for the audio songs and trailer.
While the songs garnered one lakh hits within 24 hours of its release on YouTube, the film's trailer was viewed by more than four lakh users within a day. It is the first Malayalam movie trailer to cross such figures on YouTube within 12 hours. Though the trailer doesn't give much idea about the film, it has already raised the expectations of the audience.
As the film has garnered quite a lot of hype, the director has come forward claiming that "Charlie" is not an extra-ordinary suspense mass thriller, but a simple love story.
"It good to have some kind of expectations about the film, but knowing that people are having a lot of expectation makes me nervous. Most of the gossips related to 'Charlie' are been circulated online due to these over expectations and viewers' love towards Dulquer," Martin told Manorama Online.
Meanwhile, recently there were reports that the film will have a secret cast and the names of superstars Mammootty, Mohanlal and Prithviraj were doing the rounds on social media. The director has now slammed these rumours and said there isn't any such twists or turns in the film.
Compared to Dulquer's previous project "ABCD" with Martin, the actor will be seen in a different avatar in the film and this is said to be one of the most challenging characters he has done till date.
The film will also mark the comeback of "Bangalore Days" pair Dulquer and Parvathy as Charlie and Tessa.
The film also gives importance to music composed by Gopi Sunder and is set to hit the screens during Christmas season.
