Actor Dileep's latest movie "Chandrettan Evideya", which hit screens on 1 May, has got a good opening at the box office. The positive reviews from critics have enabled the movie to fare better than the other two Malayalam releases, "She Taxi" and "Chirakodinja Kinavukal".
Reports suggest the movie is running housefull in most places. Industry analysts predict that the movie will have a good run in all the 74 screens in Kerala.
For Dileep, "Chandrettan Evideya" is a great relief from a series of flops, and viewers have already said the flick marks his return as comedy king.
Critics have said that it is a commercial film, with all the comic elements in it, giving Dileep fans a reason to celebrate.
"Chandrettan Evideya" has actress Anushree as the lead opposite Dileep, and it is for the first time she has been cast opposite the actor. Namitha Pramod, who is also another lead, had earlier worked with Dileep in "Sound Thoma" and "Villali Veeran".
The movie also has star cast of Mukesh, Suraj Venjaramoodu, KPAC Lalitha, Chemban Vinod, Kochu Preman and Vinayakan.
"Chandrettan Evideya" is helmed by actor-turned-director Siddharth Bharathan.

The cinematography has been handled by Shyju Khalid, while editing has been taken care of by Bavan Sreekumar. Music has been composed by Prasanth Pillai.
The movie is Siddharth's second directorial. His first venture "Nidra" (2012), which was a romantic thriller, failed to deliver at the box office, despite receiving positive reviews from critics.
