Shikha Singh, who plays the role of Aaliya in Kumkum Bhagya, will soon be seen in another show. The actress will make a special appearance in Ekta Kapoor's period drama Chandra Nandini.
According to the Times of India, Shikha will essay the role of a princess and will also be seen getting into a sword fight with another woman. "Basically, this princess disrespects Indian women. She will fight against another woman, whom she challenges," Shikha told the daily.
Chandra Nandini premiered on October 10 and has been receiving rave reviews from the audience. The show has Rajat Tokas and Shweta Basu Prasad in lead roles and narrates the story of Mauryan emperor Chandragupta Maurya and his warrior princess Nandini.
Nandini is trained in warfare and martial arts. In the story ahead, she will be forced to marry Chandragupta Maurya as part of the war treaty, but hates her husband. She plans to kill him to avenge the death of her dear ones in the hands of the Mauryan emperor. But over a period of time, Chandragupta and Nandini's relationship changes and turns into a love story.
Besides Rajat and Shweta, the historical drama also features Arpit Ranka as the main antagonist, Raja Padmanabhan, the King of Kalinga. Arpit, who is popular for his on-screen character Duryodhan in Mahabharat, was last seen along with his wife in the reality show, Nach Baliye 7. Talented actress Papiya Sengupta is seen as Moora, Chandragupta's mother.
