Top place will be the target for Juventus as they host Dinamo Zagreb in their final match of the Champions League group stage this season. After a victory over Sevilla in the last matchday sealed their progress into the round of 16, Juve will know another victory will guarantee them top spot in Group H.
A win looks like a foregone conclusion as well, considering Dinamo Zagreb are yet to pick up a single point so far in the UCL this season. With five losses in five matches, one of those a 4-0 defeat to the Italian champions, Zagreb will need to produce a mini-miracle if they are to sign off from Europe with a win.
"We are only too aware that we are up against a very strong team but we are curious to measure ourselves and see if we can compete with the best," Zagreb manager Ivaylo Petev said.
"A few things have obviously changed since the last time Dinamo faced Juve. We have improved, partly by playing more games in the UEFA Champions League, which is an incredible experience for our players. Unfortunately, we haven't managed to get any points but this is a great opportunity to show everybody how much we have improved."
Juventus lead the group with 11 points from five games, one more than Sevilla, who only need to avoid a two-goal-or-more defeat to Lyon to qualify. While a win will be what Massimiliano Allegri wants, this match will also give the Juventus manager to rest some of his more important players and give an opportunity to some of them still finding their feet from a long-term injury to get back to their best.
One of those is Claudio Marchisio, who is all set to start this match against Dinamo Zagreb. "As regards myself and the rest of the team we certainly want to win and win the group," Marchisio said. "We will see on Monday who we will get in the draw but for the moment we are just focus on winning this game.
"I'm here but it doesn't mean that I'm playing. My condition after the injury? I'm happy because I feel I can play with continuity. I still have to work hard to be at 100 per cent, but I'm happy with the way I'm improving training after training."
