The storyline of popular historical drama "Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat" recently took its viewers several years ahead with the entry of Mohit Raina as the grown-up Ashoka and also introduced several new faces including Somya Seth, who essays the role of Ashoka's love interest Kaurwaki.
While Mohit has justified the role of warrior Ashoka and has successfully carried on the legacy of Siddharth Nigam (who won hearts with his excellent performance as the young Ashoka), the makers are apparently not happy with Somya's portrayal of princess Kaurwaki.
According to the Times of India report, the makers are apparently mulling over the idea of replacing Somya with another actress. In fact, the audition for the role of Kaurwaki has already begun. Since, the upcoming track will focus on Ashoka and Kaurwaki's love story, the report said that the makers want to replace Somya.
"The production house is conducting auditions and there are chances that the actress might be replaced. Apparently the makers are not too happy with Saumya's portrayal of Kaurvaki. The makers are scouting for Saumya's replacement as the story ahead will focus on the love story of Ashoka and Kaurvaki," a source told the Times of India. However, sources close to the show's producer denied the report.
Besides Mohit and Somya, Kajol Shrivastava, Ankit Arora and Dakssh Ajit Singh have been playing key roles of Devi, Sushim and Radhagupta, respectively, after the leap.
It should be mentioned that the much-hyped post-leap drama of "Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat," which was expected to take the Television Rating Points (TRP) charts by storm, surprisingly, has not witnessed a major difference in its ratings.
