At least 40 people were feared killed in twin suicide bombings in the Chadian capital of N'Djamena on Monday. Boko Haram militants were suspected to be behind the daring attacks outside the police headquarters.
AFP reported that two two suicide bombers blew themselves up outside the police headquarters and the police academy in N'Djamena.
While there is no confirmation on the exact number of dead or injured, local media reports said 40 people were killed in the blasts. The Associated Press reported that at least 100 were injured in the blast.
Graphic images posted on social media show bodies lying near the entrance of the police headquarters along the mangled remains of two motorcycles, believed to have been used by the suicide bombers. It is reported that the suicide attackers had attempted to enter the police headquarters, failing which they blew themselves up.
A Reuters report, citing an international security source, said seven people were killed in the first attack and another 35 were killed after explosives planted by the suspected militants went off at a police training school in N'Djamena.
However, in the same report quoting sources in Chadian security forces, Reuters reported that at least 20 were killed in "the series of blasts".
There was even confusion over the number of blasts. More details were awaited.

#Chad If Boko Haram are responsible for the suicide attack on (Muslim) police graduates this may cause blowback as for Al Shabaab in 2009.
