Celkon has announced the launch of its 5-inch display smartphone, dubbed A119 Signature HD, to enter into the burgeoning phablet market.
The A119 Signature HD budget smartphone comes with a price tag of ₹ 13,499.The smartphone sports a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen with 720x1280 pixel resolution. The device is powered by 1 GHz Dual Core processor and packs 1 GB RAM along with internal memory storage of 4 GB which is expandable up to 32GB via micro SD card.
It houses a 12-megapixel auto-focus rear camera and 3-megapixel front -facing camera. On the connectivity front, the handset supports WIFI, Bluetooth, 3G and GPRS.
The mobile phone packs 2100mAh battery which claims a standby of up to 140 hours and talk time up to 6 hours. Other features of the phone include 3.5mm jack and micro USB port. The handset support dual-SIM features and comes in Dusky Black and Serene White colour variants.
The phablet will be pitted against Lava Xolo A1000 which was launched last month. Celkon's 5-inch phone is a little cheaper than Xolo A1000. Xolo A1000 sports a 5-inch HD display and runs on the latest Android OS Jelly Bean powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor. This handset is priced ₹13, 999.
Celkon's latest device will also challenge Micromax's A116 Canvas HD smartphone. A116 Canvas HD boasts a 5-inch HD IPS screen with 1280x720 pixel resolution and 16.7 million colour depths. It is powered by MediaTek's MT6589 1.2 GHz quad core processor and runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.1 operating system. Other features and specifications include a 2000mAh battery, 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 1GB RAM and 4GB internal storage which is expandable up to 32GB via micro SD support. The device is now priced ₹14,499.
