Hyderabad based technology firm Celkon Mobiles launched the company's second iteration of the flagship AR Rahman branded smartphone, RahmanIshq AR 50, in India today.
Speaking on the new smartphone launch Celkon Mobiles president (Sales) R. Mahendran said, "Celkon is ushering in the next era of smartphones with carefully crafted music smartphones to compliment the music loving audience. Celkon has crafted inspired designs that enable new user experiences and make music easily available to more customers than ever before," reported NDTV.
The new phone sports a 5.0-inch touch screen and runs on the Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS powered by 1.2GHz dual-core Cortex-A7 CPU. Other key specifications include 512MB RAM, 4GB inbuilt memory (with microSD card slot), 5.0-megapixel main camera and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) secondary camera on the front side.
The company has reportedly confirmed that the RahmanIshq AR 50 would be made available in the Indian market for ₹8,499 by the end of October. With the sub-₹8,500 price range, it will be competing against local rivals like Lava Iris 501, Micromax Canvas 2 A110, Canvas Music A88, Canvas 3D A115, Karbonn A30 and MNC brands like Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos, Sony Xperia E, Xperia Tipo, Nokia Lumia 520 and the budget Asha series devices.
Earlier this month, Celkon Mobiles released the first RahmanIshq series phone AR45 for ₹7,999. It features pretty much the same specifications seen in the new model AR50, sans the display size (4.5-inch).
