It seems nothing can stop Riteish Deshmukh these days. The Bollywood star, who earned plaudits for his performance in the recently released "Ek Villain", now marks his debut as a Marathi actor through "Lai Bhaari".
"Lai Bhaari" is the widest release in the history of Marathi cinema and it will hit the screens on Friday, 11 July.
"Lai Bhaari", directed by Nishikant Kamat, is an action movie, starring Deshmukh and Radhika Apte in lead roles. Apte was last seen in the 2011 release "Shor in the City". Tanvi Azmi and Sharad Kelkar will feature as supporting actors.
The Marathi flick will also see Salman Khan in a cameo role. While Deshmukh's presence has already got fans excited about the film, Salman's appearance will be the cherry on the cake.
A special screening of "Lai Bhaari" was held on 9 July, and celebrities from different areas marked their presence on the day.
The movie won the hearts of Bollywood and received hugely positive responses. B-Town biggies appreciated Deshmukh's efforts, and even claimed that the movie will make new records in Marathi cinema.
Deshmukh's wife Genelia D'Souza attended the screening, along with the actor's mother Vaishali Deshmukh and brother Dheeraj Deshmukh.
Anubhav Sinha, Vashu Bhagnani, Raj Thackrey, Milap Zaveri and Jacky Bhagnani were also among those who attended the special screening.
Deshmukh had earlier produced two Marathi movies - "Balak Palak" and "Yellow".
