HOLLYWOOD
Ansel Elgort & Eva Longoria were up early to kick off award season with the
announcement of the Screen Actor Guild Awards nominations. ‘Birdman’ led the
way with four nods including ones for Michael Keaton, Edward Norton & Emma
Stone. Following close behind, ‘Boyhood’, ‘The Imitation Game’ & ‘The Theory
of Everything’ with three nominations each. Jennifer Aniston & Reese
Witherspoon each received recognition along with Benedict Cumberbatch who
was a double nominee for TV’s ‘Sherlock: His Last Vow’ and for ‘The
Imitation Game’. On the small screen, ‘Modern Family’ garnered four nods
with ‘Boardwalk Empire,’ ‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘Homeland’ & ‘House of Cards’
following with three apiece. The awards will be handed out January 25th.
Middle Earth has come to Hollywood with the premiere of ‘The Hobbit: The
Battle of the Five Armies’, the final chapter in the saga. Director Peter
Jackson led his cast down the darken, red carpet, which included stars
Orlando Bloom, Elijah Wood, Evangeline Lilly, Andy Serkis, Lee Pace &
Richard Armitage.
