With lot of Bollywood celebrities coming forward to support football in the country, it appears that India's most-loved sport, cricket, might take a back-seat.
In a recent event, organised by Aamir Khan's daughter Ira Khan, B-Town celebrities were spotted kicking a few goals for a social cause. The match was held at Colaba's Cooperage football ground in Mumbai.
Much like Khan, his daughter Ira is also associated with many NGOs. Ira, who is involved with welfare of stray animals, had arranged a celebrity charity football match to raise funds for animals. The friendly match brought together several bollywood celebrities into sportsman spirit.
While the entire Khan family showed their spirit in the match, other stars who were spotted playing the match included Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan, Armaan Jain and Sohail Khan. A host of television stars including Karan Wahi, Gurmeet Choudhary and Vatsal Seth were also a part of the football match.
Though Ira managed to bring down most of the celebrities to join the match, it was Azad Rao Khan, Ira's younger brother and the "Dhoom 3" star and Kiran Rao's son who stole the maximum limelight.
The celebs were divided into two teams led by Khan and Bachchan.
While Roshan, Sohail, Imran Khan, Kiran Rao, Tiger Shroff, Sushanth Singh, Nargis Fakhri, Jain and television actors Choudhary and Wahi joined Bachchan's team, Khan's team dressed in red included his older son Junaid Khan, Shabbir Ahluwalia, Rahul Bose, Dino Morea and Kunal Kapoor among others.
It was the Khan team, who won the celebrity football match and walked away with the trophy but the captain, however, assured that the funds generated will be utilised suitably.
Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez also made a short appearance to cheer the celebs, but rushed back to promote their upcoming action film "Kick".
