The news of Ellen DeGeneres selling the iconic The Brody House in LA has once again sparked divorce speculations. The sale of the iconic house comes amidst reports of Ellen's wife Portia de Rossi checking into rehab after an explosive fight.
Is it a mere coincidence that Ellen decided to sell off the best estate in Los Angeles, days after she got into a heated argument with Portia? Or is there more to the story?
It is reported that the TV hostess had asked Portia to get out of the house during the fight, and since then Portia has not returned to the LA house.
It is reported that Ellen, with much expectations, had snapped up The Brody House in January. The house - designed in 1949 - sits on a two-and-a-quarter acre property, located on the coveted streets of Holmby Hills, right next door to the Playboy Mansion.
According to TMZ, Ellen has flipped the house to Napster co-founder Sean Parker within six months. It is reported that she made a profit of $15 million through the sale of the house.
The American comedienne has now bought the entire floor of a condo in Beverly West instead. It is being speculated that Ellen and Portia might have decided to part ways, especially since the latter checked into the Malibu rehab center.
There have been strong indications that Ellen and Portia are having marital troubles for some time now. And Ellen's decision to move into a condo has raised more suspicion.
According to InTouch Weekly, which cites an informed source, Portia secretly checked into a Malibu rehab facility for a 30-day treatment for alcoholism and drugs detox. It is reported that Portia left The Brody House around May after a heated argument, in which Ellen told Portia to get out of the house.
Amidst the increasing divorce speculations, it now remains to be seen whether Portia will join Ellen at the new condo apartment.
