Updated: Three-time semi-finalists Mumbai Heroes has defeated Punjab De Sher in the opening match played at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday, 23 January. The Bollywood team won the match with a huge margin of 98 runs.

It was a one-sided match, which was completely dominated by Mumbai Heroes. The real hero of the innings was Shabir Ahluwalia, who hit 69 from 29 balls. After winning the toss, Mumbai Heroes' Captain Riteish Deshmukh had opted for batting first and that decision worked in favour of his team big time.
