The Bihar police have found the CCTV footage that shows how a local BJP leader was chased and shot dead by assailants in Patna's Daldali area on Thursday morning.
Avinash Kumar was shot dead by three men when he was out for his morning walk near his house in the heart of Bihar's capital, PTI reported.
The video shows, three men, in their late 20s, chasing Kumar through the streets of Daldali. The assailants catch up with him, after which he is shot multiple times in the back. The three assailants then walk up to Kumar, while he is lying on the road. One of them shoots Kumar in the head, after which the trio flees the spot.
The brazen murder of Kumar, who was general secretary of BJP's Patna unit, near his residence at Daldali Road, has once again raised concerns on the law and order situation in Bihar.
The murder of the local BJP leader sparked a protest in the area. BJP MLAs alleged that the incident reflected the "deteriorating" law and order situation in the state, which goes to polls this October.
The police have arrested two persons in connection with the murder, even as coordinated raids are being carried out across the city.
