A horrifying video of an Australian teenager trying to push his girlfriend in front of a moving train has gone viral across social media. However, the girl somehow managed to escape after avoiding the hurl. The footage was recorded on a CCTV camera at Elizabeth South station in Adelaide, last year.
The teenager identified as Lucas Gary Narkle, 19, was caught dragging his 14-year old girlfriend towards an oncoming train. Narkle was arrested and charged with attempted murder. After almost three months in prison, Narkle was granted bail by the Supreme Court in February.
On Wednesday, Narkle again faced the South Australian District Court pleading guilty for his actions. According to a report on The Mail, Judge Simon Stretton is unlikely to impose a further term on the accused—considering that his actions showcased mere immaturity and irresponsibility. Furthermore, it didn't cause any physical harm. Narkle is likely to get an extended community service work.
"I have to bear in mind that his actual actions here are brief, irresponsible and didn't cause any physical harm at all." "I think nothing is going to be served by imposing a further term of actual imprisonment but I am strongly inclined towards an extended community service work," the judge said after hearing the arguments. A final verdict on the case will be passed on Thursday.
According to the police, the young girl was incorporative with the investigation but has now agreed to tender a victim impact statement.
The accused arrived for the Wednesday hearing almost 30 minutes late and blamed the public transport for the delay. After completing the hearing Narkle commented, "Shout out to my boys in Yatala (Labour Prison)."
