The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the eagerly-awaited Class XII results on Monday.
The total pass percentage this year is 82.10 percent, which is two percent more than the previous year's result. A total number of 9,44,721 students appeared for the exams this year, which marked an increase of 15.81 percent.
Girls outshined boys again this year too, registering 87.98 pass percentage as compared to boys at 77.78 percent. The Chennai region once again scored the highest pass percentage with 91.83 percent.
The Class XII results are significant for students who are aspiring to join Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) as weightage is given for performance in Class XII. The rank holders in the JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) advance (new format) must be among the top 20 performers for admission to the IITs.
The cut-off scores for the top 20 percentile are 391 for general category students, 389 for OBC, 350 for SC and 338 for ST.
The CBSE has initiated a tele-counselling programme for students with the aid of 45 experts - 37 from Indian and eight from countries like Japan, Kuwait, Doha-Qatar and Saudi Arabia, UAE and Sultanate of Oman.
Through the Centralized Access System (CAS) programme, students can dial the toll free number '1800 118 004' from any part of the country and get in touch with the operator for general queries related to results or with counsellors for one-on-one telephonic counselling, from 8 am till 10 pm, said a statement from CBSE.
Where to Check Results:
Students can access their results from the official CBSE results website www.cbseresults.nic.in from 10 am onwards on Monday. The site also provides the facility to get school-vise results via e-mail. For this, schools will have to register with their affiliation code, examination/school code, and e-mail address.
The results can also be accessed via websites www.cbse.nic.in, www.results.nic.in, other than the official CBSE results website. Students can also check their marks through Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS). Residents of Delhi can access the results by dialing 24300699, while those outside Delhi need to dial (011) 24300699.
The results are accessible via SMS also. MTS subscribers need to text "cbse12" to 543216, 57766 for BSNL subscribers; 5800001 for Aircel; 5207011 for Airtel; 50000 for Vodafone; 9212357123 for NIC; 57272 for Jagran; 54321, 51234, 5333300 for Indicom and Docomo.
