The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) busted a syndicate, which was involved in leaking porn MMS clips on social networking platforms and porn websites, arresting alleged kingpin Kaushik Kuonar in Bengaluru on Thursday.

The agency seized about 500 porn clips of women and children along with some advanced editing software, machines, stealth cameras and hard disks from Kuonar's place, The Times of India reported.

CBI sleuths were interrogating Kuonar to get details on the whereabouts of other members of the syndicate. The agency suspected that the other members are from West Bengal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

The investigating agency was able to bust the organisation after months of investigation into the source of 10 video clips that were circulating on WhatsApp since the beginning of 2015.

The investigation started on Supreme Court orders, after the Chief Justice of India received a letter and a pen drive with nine obscene clips from a Hyderabad-based NGO. The clips had both women and children filmed in obscene acts, while many children were being shot beaten up.

Of these nine clips, three were sourced to Kuonar, while two people were arrested from Odisha for another clip. Kuonar had created a business out of these clips to make money.

"Every click or every visit viewing these clips would apparently reward him with money," an official said.

The CBI has also registered six FIRs in connection with the alleged gangrapes and another for rape.
