In episode 18, we saw Rick's friend, former MI-6 agent Hayley Shipton, got framed to take the blame for the blackout that plagued the entire London area. Hayley thought she was just putting in spyware to check if her client's husband was cheating on her. But it turned out that the spyware was actually a deadly computer worm she co-created with an old partner, Agent Wesley Connors, who wanted to seek revenge from the MI-6 agent. Rick and Kate stopped him, but he did not want to go to jail. Finally, Hayley had to shoot him.
In episode 19, we will see Rick and Kate solve the mystery of a safety inspector, who had been poisoned twice and survived. According to the synopsis, this will be a very curious case and the husband-wife duo will be determined to solve this mysterious case.
One of the promos of the episode starts of showing a man, who is described as a "would-be-superhero," someone who had died twice to be reborn. The next scene shows him at the hospital trying out superhero names. Castle jumps to a conclusion that this man has some unrealistic superpowers. At the end of the trailer, we see that Castle hits the man on the head and explains that he was just testing for spidey senses. The man retorts that he doesn't have that.
Plot synopsis for "Dead Again" (via TV Guide) reads: "A city inspector cheats death twice when he survives separate poisoning attempts, and a curious Castle and Beckett grow determined to solve this mysterious case."
