With just a week left for the finale of "Castle" season 7, fans are eager to know the developments in Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Kate Beckett's (Stana Katic) relationship. But the series will once again take viewers through a mysterious murder case in penultimate episode titled "Dead From New York".
The sequel, which is set to be telecast on Monday, 4 May, at 10pm, will not just focus on the various aspects of a late-night show called "Saturday Night Tonight", but will also address the death of its creator, Sid Ross.
The police procedural drama is expected to revolve around the darker side of variety shows, where in the powerful creator himself will be found killed and the prime suspects could be its cast members.
The official synopsis and several spoilers hints on Jaleel White's character Mickey Franks as the culprit. While the synopsis describes the character as a larger-than-life sketch comedy star with a tendency towards outrageous and possibly homicidal behaviour, a trailer released by Zap2it shows him smartly ignoring the questions of Beckett and her partner.
Meanwhile, the description states that the detectives will uncover a shocking secret that may explain Sid's murder while they delve into the victim's life and the colourful world of "Saturday Night Tonight". So Carly Rae Jepsen may also have a role to play in the crime and the upcoming sequel may focus on her relationship with the creator.
The series will also star Gregory Harrison as Danny Valentine, James Eckhouse as Gene Vogel, Joy Osmanski as Liz Bell and Mark Rolston as Kurt Van Zant. However, "Castle" fans will have to wait until Monday, 4 May, at 10pm to know more about season 7 episode 22 titled "Dead From New York".
