Telugu actress Sri Reddy had started her fight against sexual exploitation in the entertainment industry by stripping herself in front of the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce office in Hyderabad in April. Since then, she has accused many Tollywood bigwigs like noted scriptwriter Kona Venkat, executive producer Vakada Appa Rao, producer Suresh Babu's son Abhiram Daggubati and others of sexually exploiting young actresses.
And now, the actress has explained how celebrities lure young girls into sleeping with them in exchange for better roles and recommendations.
According to Sri Reddy, the hero or the director approach budding actresses through the producer, writer or artiste co-ordinator to bed with them.
"They usually choose girls who are desperate to make it big in the industry and ask them to give them company in return for a better role and recommendations," Sri Reddy told Indiaglitz.
She also said that sometimes producers invite girls in their cars for a ride and start exploiting them sexually to avoid being seen in public.
"The shocking thing is sometimes an actress should satisfy the entire crew right from the co-ordinator to the makeup man to cameraman and right up till the hero," she said.
She also revealed that most of the Tamil celebrities pick girls from Hyderabad to keep their good image intact in Tamil Nadu further adding that foreign shoot locations are chosen by producers and directors to take advantage of struggling actresses to satisfy their sexual needs.
Sri Reddy's explosive claims had created sensation in the past and would help spread awareness about casting couch which has plagued the industry for past several decades.
Of late, she has turned her focus to Tamil cinema and has already accused some of the big names in the Kollywood industry like filmmaker Sunder C, actors Srikanth and Raghava Lawrence and director AR Murugadoss of sexually exploiting her in the past few days.
