September is here. The month is considered as the entry of festive season and auto makers are planning to launch many new car and bikes this month. Vehicles launching at the start of festive season will also help companies to capitalise increased sales in the coming months. Apart from the limited edition models, companies have all new products as well as face-lifted version of the current models waiting for launch in September. We have compiled a list of the vehicles entering soon to the market.
Bajaj Pulsar VS400
Bajaj Auto introduced the Pulsar CS400 concept at Auto Expo 2014 while the production spec will get the name VS400. It will be powered by a 373.27cc liquid-cooled, 4-valve triple-spark engine that develops 34.5bhp at 8,000rpm. The cruiser sport motorcycle will be the flagship product of Bajaj Auto and it is expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 1.7 lakh to Rs. 1.85 lakh (ex-showroom).
Moto Guzzi V9 Roamer and Bobber
Italian manufacturer Piaggio had showcased the V9 Roamer and V9 Bobber motorcycles from its Moto Guzzi brand at Auto Expo 2016. The launch of both the motorcycles is expected soon and it will come via CBU line. The V9 Roamer and V9 Bobber are powered by a 850cc V-twin air- and oil-cooled engine that produces 54bhp of power at 6,250rpm and peak torque of 62Nm at 3,000rpm mated to a six-speed gearbox. The power is channelled to the rear wheel through a new double-joint drive shaft.
Honda Brio facelift
Honda Car India will update its entry level hatchback, the Brio and the launch is expected by the end of the month. The new version gets a fresh dashboard layout, which has been seen in the BR-V and the new Amaze. Additional features in the new Brio will include a new audio system, steering wheel-mounted audio button, LED high-mount stop lamps, projector headlamps and ABS for the RS version. The face of the hatchback will feature a redesigned bumper and a new grille draped in black.
Hyundai Elite i20 automatic
Hyundai India will add automatic transmission equipped Elite i20 soon. The premium hatchback will be powered by 1.4 litre four-cylinder VTVT petrol engine develops 99bhp at 6,000rpm and 132.5Nm of torque at 4,000rpm for the four-speed automatic version. The manual transmission petrol version of the Elite i20 is powered by 1.2-litre petrol engine. While there is no change in the style and design of the model, the Elite i20 automatic may miss out features such as projectors headlamps, keyless entry, rear parking camera and the touchscreen entertainment system to keep price in check.
Fiat Urban Cross
Italian auto-maker Fiat is ready to roll out the Urban Cross in India soon. The Urban Cross, which debuted at the Auto Expo 2016, is powered by 1.4-Tjet petrol engine that is tuned to belt out 140bhp of power and 210Nm of torque. The vehicle will get a new front grille, side mouldings, roof rack with LED lighting and 17-inch alloys. Inside the cabin, Urban Cross will feature five-inch touchscreen display with audio navigation and dual-tone dash board.
Toyota Etios, Liva facelift
Toyota Kirlosar Motor will launch face-lifted avatar of the Etios sedan and Liva hatchback on Sept. 13. The new face for the vehicles sports a new V-shaped grille with black honeycomb inserts. The bumper has been reworked to include more black-coloured areas. The side profile of the sedan is expected to get side skirts and newly-designed alloy wheels. The rear will get a reworked bumper and integrated spoiler in line with the Brazilian version. Toyota will opt for an all-black cabin and a centre console with piano black finish in new Etios. The centrally-mounted instrument cluster will be upgraded to digital display.
New Audi A4
German luxury car-maker Audi unveiled new A4 sedan at the Auto Expo 2016. Audi India will launch the new version on Sept. 8. New A4 gets more angular design and it features a wider single frame front grille. Redesigned front lamps will now be offered with Matrix LED lights as option. Audi virtual cockpit with 12.3-inch LCD screen, head-up display, MMI Navigation plus infotainment and Bang & Olufsen 3D Sound System with 19 speakers can be expected in the luxury sedan. The new A4 will be offered with 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine initially and a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine will be added later.
New Jaguar XF
British luxury car maker Jaguar will launch second generation XF sedan in the country towards the end of September. The new XF is based on the new aluminium-intensive iQ platform. The face of the sedan has been reworked with large mesh grille, bigger air intakes and new LED headlamps with revised LED DRLs. The front and the rear bumper have been tweaked to house the changes. The tail lamps are inspired from the XE and the sedan also flaunts boot spoiler.
Like other models of Jaguar, the XF will be sold in Pure, Prestige and Portfolio variants. All the three variants will be sold with the in-line 4-cyl 2.0-litre diesel engine that develops 177bhp and 430Nm of torque. In addition, Prestige and Portfolio variants will be available with the in-line 4-cyl 2.0-litre petrol engine as well. The petrol mill will develop 237bhp and 340Nm of torque. All the variants will be mated to eight-speed automatic transmission.
