"Captain America: Civil War" as we know will be all about the conflict between "team Captain America" and "team Iron Man". And we also know that the Avengers will appear in the 2016 flick and their motivations behind supporting the team they are in. But the thing that we are still not very sure off is — who will be the main antagonist or the main villain?
There have been various rumours that have suggested that Crossbones would be the big bad guy in "Civil War". But it looks like actress Elizabeth Olsen, who plays Scarlet Witch, has revealed that Baron Helmut Zemo, to be portrayed by Daniel Bruhl will be the film's main villain.
This contradicting news has come out when Olsen in her recent interview with a French journal Premiere (via Coming Soon) said: "Brühl is an incredible actor and he's playing the main villain in it. And he's incredible! It's a movie about people as opposed to robots this time. So it's darker and it's allowed to be darker because it gets more in the mindset of humans rather than machines."
Well, if you remember in the comics, Baron Helmut Zemo is the son of Nazi scientist Baron Heinrich Zemo and he continues his father's legacy in the modern era. After Captain America killed Zemo's father, he has been Cap's biggest enemy for two generations.
If this is true, then Zemo will be one of the several villains appearing in "Captain America: Civil War" next year. There have been several reports that Crossbones would be main villain in the film, but, it now looks like Zemo may have just taken over as the bad guy because of his status in the comics.
Well, Marvel still hasn't given a clear picture of how Baron Zemo would fit into the story, what would be his motivations and exact role. But, more or less it looks like after Red Skull, Arnim Zola and Baron Strucker, Zemo is expected to join the battle on the big screen.
Now, we will know what Baron Zemo's motives are only when "Captain America: Civil War" is released on 6, May, 2016, in the US and on 29, April, 2016, in the UK.
