Original Story:
Japanese camera-maker Canon has announced a new and exciting entry-level DSLR camera: the Canon EOS 1300D or the EOS Rebel T6. Targeted towards social media savvy hobbyists, the camera allows users to upload their pictures to a host of social media platforms via smartphones.
The new camera features the same 18.0 MP APS-C sized sensor from 2014's EOS 1200D, but comes with a more powerful DIGIC 4+ processor. Other features include an ISO range between 100 and 6,400, which can be expanded up to 12,800 and an nine-point AF system.
The camera features a burst mode of three frames per second and imges can be view in camera on the three inch 920k dot LCD screen. While the camera doesn't feature a touch screen, like its predecessor, it does, however, offer Wi-Fi and NFC support. It can also be connected to Canon's Connect Station CS100 media hub.
The camera offers interesting shooting modes, which include portrait, night portrait, landscape, sports, and close-up, to name a few, but the new mode that Canon has added to the EOS 1300D is the 'Food Mode' that enhances colours and sharpness of the images. It also offers a variety of creative filters like Fisheye, Toy Camera, Miniature and Soft Focus.
Another key new feature on the EOS 1300D is the "white priority" Auto White Balance setting that enables the users to shoot more natural-looking photos under incandescent lighting. While users can retain complete control over exposure setting using the Manual mode, the Scene Intelligent Auto mode analyses the image, accounting for faces, colours, brightness, moving objects, contrast and whether the camera is handheld on a tripod and adjusts the camera's settings for you.
The only physical addition to the back of the camera over the previous model is a Wi-Fi indicator and retains the same ergonomic layout that allows users to access all the buttons with just their right hand. Expected to arrive in stores in the U.S. in April 2016, the Canon EOS 1300D/Rebel T3 will carry a sticker price of $549.99 when bundled with the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II standard zoom lens.
