With her first appearance at the 69th Cannes Film Festival, Sonam Kapoor made a strong statement when she walked the red carpet in a saree-inspired gown. The saree-inspired white gown from Ralph & Russo's Haute couture made her look stunning on the red carpet.
The pristine white gown had gold embroidery all over its larger than life cape that looked beautiful from the back. The half way cape started from the right shoulder and had an extension from the left waist.
Sonam sported Chopard jewellery, flushed pink lips and dewy makeup by Namrata Soni paired with Ferragamo shoes. Her hair, which was styled in soft loose waves, completed her look.
Sonam, who represented cosmetic group L'Oreal Paris at the film festival, attended the screening of the film "Mal de pierres" (From the Land of the Moon) on Sunday. This year, the film festival is even more special to Sonam, as her highly acclaimed film "Neerja" will be in the Marche du Film at Cannes.
Meanwhile, at an event earlier, Sonam stunned everyone when she attended a press conference in a black and blue metallic structured sari by Delhi-based designer Rimzim Dadu with fuchsia lips. She wore Suhani Pittie earrings and her bun went well with the outfit.
This is Sonam's sixth Cannes appearance as the brand ambassador of cosmetic group L'Oreal Paris. She will grace the red carpet on Monday and will also attend the prestigious amfAR gala on May 19. Every year, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan attends the amfAR gala, but she will miss the event this year because of the release schedule of the upcoming flick "Sarbjit."
