Cannes Film Festival 2016: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor to attend

Continuing the tradition, cosmetic group L'Oreal Paris' brand ambassadors Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor will grace the red carpet at the Cannes International Film Festival 2016. However, there has been no confirmation whether Katrina Kaif will make her second appearance at the prestigious film festival.

"Sonam completed five years of walking the red carpet at the film festival for the brand last year," the cosmetic group said in a statement, according to IANS. 

The 69^th Cannes Film Festival will be held from May 11 to 22 in Cannes, France. Though it is confirmed that Sonam and Aishwarya will attend the prestigious film festival, it is still not confirmed on which day the duo will walk the red carpet.

Like every year, this year also the leading ladies are not expected to share the stage at the film festival. Sonam and Aishwarya might attend the Cannes Film Festival 2016 on different dates.

Katrina joined the L'Oreal Paris family two years ago and made her Cannes debut last year. Sonam has been attending the film festival for over five years now, while Aishwarya has been representing the brand at Cannes for over 14 years now.

There were rumours that Deepika Padukone has replaced Aishwarya as the brand ambassador, but a source later said that these were just rumours and the former Miss World is still representing the brand.

Meanwhile, Aishwarya will be seen promoting her film "Sarbjit," which is slated for a May 20 release, at the film festival. Last year, she promoted her film "Jazbaa" at Cannes and it received positive reviews from the critics for her performance.
