Bollywood is making its presence felt at the 66th annual Cannes Film Festival that started with a bang with the premiere of "The Great Gatsby".
In the first two days of the festivak, Bollywood celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Malika Sherawat and Sonam Kapoor graced the red carpet with their presence. And on the fourth day, one of the most talented actors, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, walked the red carpet during the premiere of their film "Monsoon Shootout".
He was accompanied by co-actor Tannishtha Chatterjee, director Amit Kumar and Vijay Varma at the film festival. During the photocall for the film, Siddiqui sported a long mustache and repeated his last year's black suit, according to The Times of India. For the premiere he wore a white shirt, black suit with and a matching tie.
Actress Tannishtha for the photocall wore a blue sequinned dress with a black velvet jacket over it, while for the premiere she was seen in strapless blue gown. Tannishtha's outfit is designed by Australian designer Truese.
"Monsoon Shootout" is the official Indian entry in the competition section. The film has been selected in the Midnight Screenings section of the festival.
"It is a great feeling to be going there the year India is celebrating 100 years of Indian cinema. Monsoon Shootout is one of my best works, in the sense that Amit Kumar has made it from a very uncompromising view point. It's exciting me that the film has got the midnight gala screening," Tannishtha told TOI before leaving for the festival.
