Cannes 2017: Sonam Kapoor addressed as Deepika Padukone; hope they spare Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

After foreign media addressed Deepika Padukone as Priyanka Chopra some time back, an American photo agency has now mistook Sonam Kapoor as Deepika.

Both Sonam and Deepika are currently enjoying their visit to Cannes 2017. However, this latest blunder will make Sonam a little upset. The American photo stock agency reportedly addressed Sonam as Deepika while posting the former's red carpet picture from Cannes 2017.

"Indian actress Deepika Padukone arrives for the film The Meyerowitz Stories in competition at the 70th Annual International Film Festival in Cannes, Frances on May 21, 2017," posted the agency with the picture of Sonam.

While international media confusing between Indian actresses is anyway not an acceptable thing for the fans, this is even stranger as Sonam has been a regular face at the Cannes since 2011. Earlier, foreign media photographers had addressed Deepika as Priyanka when she was exiting an airport.

Reacting to the blunder, Deepika had called it both ignorance and racist. "Absolutely, it's not just me being offended. Everyone should be offended. It is not just ignorance, it is racist. Two people of the same colour aren't the same. You should educate them and not encourage them," Deepika had said.

Looks like it is only Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who has till date managed to escape this embarrassment at Cannes.

Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see how Sonam reacts to being mistaken for Deepika.
