Bollywood divas Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor are set to make their appearances at the Cannes Film Festival 2016, and will be joined by another actress. Last year, Katrina Kaif had made her debut at the event, while this year Amy Jackson will put in an appearance.
She recently revealed about her Cannes debut to a leading daily and talked about the outfit that she would wear to the red carpet. "I will be attending a luncheon hosted by the British Film Institute where I will speak on my journey in Bollywood. Later, I will attend a dinner called the Annual Positive Planet Gala which is a separate event to raise funds for Syrian refugees," Amy told Mid Day.
"I am going to be taking some risks on the red carpet and not playing it safe since this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I am so excited to be a part of it. My stylist and I will be trying out about 25-30 dresses soon, so it will be like a mini fashion show in my living room," she added.
The international film festival will start on May 11 in Cannes, France. Aishwarya has been attending the film festival as the L'Oreal Paris brand ambassador for many years, and Sonam joined her later. Last year, the new member of the group of L'Oreal Paris brand ambassadors, Katrina, had made her first appearance, but there has been no confirmation on whether she will attend the event this year.
Amy, whose last Bollywood appearance was opposite Akshay Kumar in "Singh Is Bliing," has become a popular face in the South Indian industry. She will soon appear in the sequel of "Robot" — titled "2.0" — alongside Rajinikanth and Akshay. Fans will be delighted to know that the diva will be making her appearance at Cannes this year.
